UPDATE 1/11/18:
Good looking Max, a Blue Tick/Red Tick Hound, just arrived. He is a very long legged, handsome boy that is just exiting his puppy stage. His birthday is 10/4/16 and he weighs about 65 pounds. He wears the sleekest, most beautiful coat. (Though he was a beloved family pet, his family had to surrender him because he absolutely HATES cats and was a serious threat to any cat he could get to.) I (Flower) have spent a couple days with Max now and learned that he is a truly LOVELY dog. I even spoke to his very nice human mom to learn more about him. He:
- knows and responds to SIT, STAY, and COME, and is in the process of learning DOWN. He accepts treats with a very gentle mouth too. His family loved him and enjoyed training him. Max DOES look to people for guidance and enjoys learning new things. He usually comes when called.
- doesn’t jump up on you when he knows you won’t tolerate it, but he is still young and doesn’t know what to do with all of his pent up energy sometimes. He loves to run.
- in his previous home he was good with dogs of all sizes (they had several other dogs) and both sexes. He did not live in the house but he was very well cared for and well vetted.
- is good with kids 6 and older (his family has kids 6 and older).
- is clean in his room, when we are able to get him outside often enough to be.
Max needs a home that will include him in many aspects of their lives and give him a good and safe outlet for his young energy. He MUST live inside a home with his family as a valued family member and he must not be able to get to cats ever!
