Adopt a Siberian Husky / Mixed (long coat)

Joan is a large, energetic, 4 y.o. (approx.) husky who is loving and affectionate towards her people. She is a cheerful, clever, and playful girl. She knows how to sit and speak on command- most of the time at least!

Joan's history is sad. She has never been in one place for very long. She has been in-and-out of the pound on numerous occasions, as her previous owners couldn't keep her properly housed. I met Joan when I pulled her (Nov 2017) from the Arlington animal shelter on the day she was scheduled to be put down. I planned to make her the newest addition to my household, and so I took her home. Unfortunately, my current dog doesn't feel the same way and refuses to accept Joan.

Joan's favorite toy is the family cat (in a loving and playful manner, of course). She has never hurt the cat, but can be a bit rambunctious with it at times. As far as real toys, Joan likes a small plastic bone that previously belonged to my other dog. She hides it whenever she figures out that others know where she keeps it. Like I mentioned earlier, Joan can be quite affectionate and she shows it by licking - alot! Fair warning. Also, she loves to monopolize her owner's attention and enjoys going for a run whenever you have the time! Exercise is important to Joan. She cannot be confined for a long period of time without trying to escape to let out some of her tremendous energy!

The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $250.00, which includes their vaccinations and spay/neuter.

Joan is participating in the DFW Rescue Me Guest Dog Program, so ongoing care and custody are provided by their foster, not by DFWRM.
