Labradors

Beagles

Yorkshire terriers
They are loved by children, as they are very small, cute and affectionate. They are also called Yorkies and they are a part of the toy group, together with Chihuahua. They get their name from the city in England they originate from. They were used to catch rats in mills during 19th century, so, unlike today, they belonged to the working class.

Boxers
This breed developed in Germany during the 19th century - they were used for dog fighting. They arrived in America after the World War I and they grew in popularity in the 1930s. Although it was known as a violent breed, it is now famous for its love and human affection, mostly for children.

Bulldogs
Who can resist that squashed little face? Though it is a very affectionate breed, it gets his name from bull baiting in the British Isles. But when this activity became illegal, breeders decided to make it nicer and it took more than 10 generations to have this sweet little dog from today

Shih Tzus
This is a toy dog, cherished in the past by all the Chinese royals. The Shih Tzu was the preferred house pet for the whole Ming Dynasty and it was brought in Europe by soldiers from England during the World War II.
