Dogs have been a significant part of our lives since we first encountered each other. We see and hear about dogs in our myths and folklore, religious and cultural memories. In present times, we celebrate dogs in art, movies and literature.
Dogs presence in our lives is not always so simple. Our sometimes disparate needs have necessitated that we protect dogs from humans and likewise humans from dogs through animal rescue efforts and animal laws.
