<b>The<i> Braque Saint-Germain</i></b>

History: The braque Saint-Germain was developed in 1830 in the French royal kennels at Compiegne in Saint-Germain-en-Laye. The breed is the result of a cross between an English pointer female and a French braque and was developed for the use on small game. The breed became a favorite of Parisian hunters.

Physical Description: This is a medium size, muscular breed with golden yellow eyes and a dark pink dose. The drop ears are fawn colored and the tail is long and low. The short coat is orange or fawn or white.

Height: 21 to 23 inches

Weight: 40 to 55 pounds

Temperament: This is a gentle and sensitive dog that is equally adept as a hunting dog and family companion. It enjoys working and is highly trainable, but also thrives on attention and affection.

Activity Level: High

Best Owner: A suburban or rural home with an active family is best. It should be included in a job or organized activity.
