<b>The<i> Epagneul Bleu de Picardie</i></b>

History: The epagneul bleu de Picardie is a pointing dog that was only classified as separate from the epagneul Picard in the early twentieth century. The distinctive color was probably developed with an infusion of blue belton English setters and possibly Gordan setters. The breed was recognized in 1921 and is rare, even in its homeland.

Physical Description: This is a medium size, square bodied dog. It has an oval-shaped head and long muzzle; large, dark eyes; and long drop ears. The medium-length tail is straight. The coat is straight or slightly wavy, with feathering on the legs, head and ears. It is gray speckled with black patches, giving it a blue appearance.

Temperament: This is an easygoing and affectionate dog that is highly trainable and intelligent. It is devoted to family and gets along with children and other animals. It enjoys the water and outdoors.
