History: The Munsterlander was developed in the Munster region of Germany, probably from the crosses between Germany longhaired pointers and continental spaniels. The dogs are versatile hunters, used for pointing and retrieving both in the water and on land.
Physical Description: This is a medium-size, muscular dog. It has a slightly rounded, brown nose; brown eyes; and broad drop ears that are set high and end in a point. The double coat has a sleek, slightly wavy outer coat of moderate length. There is feathering on the tail and legs. The medium-length tail is carried straight, although the last third maybe lightly curved upward. The coat is brown and white or white ticked with brown. Tan markings are permitted on the muzzle and eyes.
