<b>The<b> Danish Broholmer</b></b>

History: Although they were once well known in Denmark, the Broholmer almost died out in the mid-nineteenth century and again in the mid-twentieth century. The breed was restored in the mid-1970s by the Danish Kennel club. They are gaining popularity in both Denmark and abroad.

Physical Description: The Broholmer is a large, muscular, and powerful dog with a large, broad head and short drop ears. Its eyes are brown or black and the lips are pendulous. The natural tail is curved and the legs are powerful. The double coat has a short, harsh outer coat in fawn or black.

Height: 27.5 to 29.5 inches

Weight: 90 to 130 pounds

Temperament: The Broholmer is calm, docile, and even tempered but can be dominant and protective when threatened.

Activity Level: Moderate

Best Owner: It does best with a dog experienced owner in a rural home.
