History: The Slovac cuvac is an old breed that has been used as a flock guardian and shepherds companion for centuries. It came close to extinction after WWII but was revitalized by fanciers and the School of Veterinary Medicine in Brno, Czech Republic.
Physical Description: The Slovac cubic is a large, powerful dog. The skin is pink but black at the eye rims, neck, muzzle, and foot pads, and mucous membranes. The oval eyes are dark brown. The double coat has a profuse outer coat that is longest at the neck, forming a ruff. It is shortest at the head and legs. The coat is white, sometimes with yellow at the ears.
