Choosing Dog Clothes - Enhange Your Dog's Looks and Protect Its Health

No matter the race or age, dogs feel the weather just like we, humans, do. Even if their fur protects them from cold temperatures, that does not mean they do not risk getting sick. That is where dog clothes come into the picture.

The dogs that are most sensitive to cold are the small ones. The dogs that are very vulnerable to low temperatures are also the ones with short fur, the young and the old ones and, of course, the sick ones. If you want your liffle friends to be healthy and joyful, you should not hesitate to get them some seasonal dog clothes: vest, boots, even pajamas and of course, small waterproof raincoats.

Sometimes, dog clothes are considered to be just a caprice of the owners and not necessarily a truly useful accessory. You must never forget that not all dog races have the same reactions to cold temperatures. For instance, a Husky would be a lot more accustomed to low temperatures compared to a Chihuahua or a Yorkshire.

Dogs need your constant attention. When you are dressing up yours in a nice piece of clothing you are giving them just that. You are offering your pet attention and that means the world for it. Once the dog gets used to being dressed up (it might be a little nervous at first), you will get an instant positive response whenever it sees the clothes in your hands. Once they realize those clothes are theirs to keep, dogs start developing a real sense of ownership and will easily accept to wear them. Moreover, the owner's satisfaction when he sees his dog dressed up nicely is so great that his dog immediately senses it and feels very joyful as well.

When deciding to buy dog clothes for your little friend, it would be recommended to follow some simple rules:

* Get the perfect measurements of your dog, so you will be sure the clothes fit it perfectly. While standing up, your dog should be measured from the collar base till the spot where his tail joins the body.
* To avoid some choking hazard, it is better to avoid clothes having any kind of buttons, feathers etc., especially if your dog loves to chew.
* Make sure that the types of clothes you have in mind are suitable for your dog. If men would dislike wearing Barbie clothes, I doubt you would like to see your Saint-Bernard wearing those too, for an example. Got the idea?

I am sure that most dog lovers would like to see their pet looking amazing and really turn heads everywhere it goes. And dog clothes really help to achieve that. But remember that your dog's health and general wellbeing are much more important than looks; so think about the practical aspects and not about the design when choosing your pet's clothing. If you keep this in mind, I am sure that both you and your dog will be very happy with the new acquisition.
