- What is West Nile Innovator used for?
West Nile Virus Vaccine is indicated for the vaccination of healthy horses as an aid in the prevention of viremia caused by West Nile Virus.
- How West Nile Innovator should be used?
West Nile-Innovator is FDA approved for use in veterinary medicine. The usual dose in horses is to inject 1 ml intramuscularly using aseptic technique. Administer a second 1 ml dose 3 to 6 weeks after the first dose. Revaccinate annually with one 1 ml dose. Shake well prior to use.
- What are the side effects?
Side effects that may occur include transient local reactions at the injection site. In case of anaphylactic reaction, administer epinephrine.
- What special precautions are there?
This medication should not be used in horses allergic to it. Do not vaccinate horses within 21 days before slaughter. Shake well before use. Owners should be advised that vaccinated horses may develop antibody to West Nile Virus, which may affect their ability to export the animal.

- How should I store West Nile Innovator?
Store this medication in the dark at 35º to 45ºF. Avoid freezing. Discard unused portion. Throw away any medication that is outdated or no longer needed. Keep this medication out of the reach of children and pets.
