Akiko has been with us for many months, patiently waiting for her perfect adopter to come along. She has a super fun and playful side! She loves feather dangle toys, leather mice, real fur toys, the laser dot, bugs, and plastic toy balls with noisy pellets in them. Occasionally she responds to catnip. She loves to watch the birds out the windows and even enjoys videos for cats on her foster mom's tablet, especially with bird sounds or squeaky mice. Akiko loves her foster mom and happily jumps in her lap each evening
for some petting.
Akiko needs a special adopter to come forward, because she takes some time to build trust. Loud noises or fast movement make her uncomfortable. Akiko's perfect adopter will have a quiet household, no other pets or small children, and will feel comfortable allowing her to adjust slowly at her own pace. Someone who is able to read cat body language would also be a plus! The more time she has in a quiet and peaceful environment, the more relaxed she will feel, as well as having a variety of cat-friendly places for her to hang out, like a nice tall cat tree and even a bed on the wall!
This cat has been combo-tested for Feline Leukemia and FIV, received all age-appropriate vaccinations and is altered.
