Lilly the Dog needs a home

To be considered for adopting a dog from Canine Lifeline, you must have an approved application must be on file. Please visit http://www.caninelifeline.org/adoption-process/ for more information about our adoption process and to submit an online application.

Lilly is a 6.5 year-old Corgi/Shepherd mix female who orginally came to Canine Lifeline in May 2017 after she was surrendered to a county dog shelter by her owners who were moving and not taking her along. Ironically, her abandonment was a lucky break for Lilly as she tested positive for heartworms upon her arrival here with us. Lilly went through lifesaving treatment last summer and just got a negative heartworm test so has a new lease on life. She was adopted last July but, unfortunately, was recently returned to us as she never became comfortable with the men and boys in the home especially when they tried to put a leash on her. Lilly prefers the company of women and most especially enjoys being around other dogs. She plays for hours with her fellow foster dogs so we do want to place her in a home with another playful canine or two. She would do best in a home with an aboveground fenced yard so she could run and play to her heart's content as she does in her foster home. Lilly is housetrained, crate-trained, and loves riding in the car. Lilly was quite heavy when she first came to us but has slimmed down nicely and is now at her ideal weight of about 41 pounds. Her adoption fee is $250. She’s spayed, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea preventative, and microchipped. All Canine Lifeline adoptions come with a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email [email protected] if you’re interested in Lilly. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. We have no foster homes with young children so aren’t comfortable placing any of them in a home with children less than 7 years of age. We try to respond to inquiries within 48 hours so if you haven’t heard from us within that time frame, please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there. Please visit our website at www.caninelifeline.org to see more photos of Lilly and to submit an online application.
