Dallas the Dog needs a home

My name is Dallas and I’m about 3-4 years old.   Prior to coming into rescue I lived in fear and was not likely treated the best by people. I have had to learn to trust again – to know that people don’t always hurt but can extend the hand of love – but I must meet new people on my terms. I had to undergo heartworm treatment but am done with that now and doing very well in my foster home. My foster dad has worked hard on training and socializing me. I am learning and growing every day.



I live in foster with other dogs and cats. I do best with dogs who are calm and not in my face. At first I wanted to chase the cats but I got over that. I am a quiet shy boy who would do best in a quieter home.  A home with lots of noise and activity would likely overwhelm me. I need gentle patient positive training and I blossom with that. I ride nicely in the car and walk well on lead.



I am a tender soul who has not had an easy life but I look forward to the future in the right home.

All of our dogs are current with all shots, are on heart worm preventative monthly and are neutered/spayed. All dogs are tail docked. All of the above Dobes are pure breed Dobermans unless otherwise noted.

Please Note:
In most cases we require a fenced yard.
We do not place our rescue dogs in homes with very young children (under the age of 8 years). We set these limitations, not because of aggression issues with our dogs, but because Dobermans are generally large, active dogs and can easily knock down, run over or easily trip a small child, causing a serious fall. Also, we reserve the right to refuse adoption for any reason.
Our adoption area encompasses Nebraska, Iowa and South Dakota.
