Adopt a Shepherd / Mixed (medium coat)
Minnie the Dog needs a home
Hi, I’m Minnie! I am a 2 year old Shepherd Mix and my foster mom says I am the sweetest girl! I have been living with my foster family for several months now and at first I was so scared of everything. I was scared of being touched, loud noises, and other people. Now, I am still shy when I meet a new person, but my foster mom says I am getting better at that too. My favorite thing to do is go for a walk! I used to pull really hard, especially if I saw a bunny, but my foster mom taught me “come” and now I realize that I shouldn’t pull, especially if we are running together. My foster mom also taught me to “sit” and “lay down.” She keeps grabbing my paw and saying “shake,” but I don’t know why she keeps doing that. I also forgot to mention how much I love other dogs! When I meet a dog, I like proper introductions first. My favorite dog in the world is my foster sister. I love to play with her, snuggle with her, and give her lots of kisses-my foster mom says it warms her heart. Because I am still a little shy when I meet new people, my foster mom keeps saying that someone will have to take a chance on me, but when they do, it will be the best chance they ever took.
Minnie has come a long, long way in a short time. She is very shy when she meets new people and does take awhile to warm up, but she is improving. Minnie loves to snuggle, give kisses, and spend time with her foster family. She is still working on walking on a leash without pulling as well as other simple commands, but she is learning quickly. She is crate trained, but prefers to be out in the house with her friends. Minnie does have a bit of energy so she would do best in a home with someone who could give her daily walks and/or go running or hiking with her. She needs someone with the time and patience to let her open up on her own terms. She would do best in a home with another dog as she tends to form very tight bonds to other dogs. Minnie is truly a diamond in the rough.
