Pebbles came to us from a shelter in KY where she was owner surrendered but not before she was horribly abused. She is very sweet, & dearly wants to be lovable but so sorry to say that she takes time to trust people. I can see she wants to come to me --- but there is something inside of her that still makes her fear being too close to people. Pebbles will ONLY be able to be adopted by someone who has had personal experience in working with a very fearful dog. She's not the "fear-biter" type but she's just not ready to come when called. I have to trick her to get into a kennel with treats so I can put a slip-lead on her neck & then I can bring her inside.
After several weeks she is doing 80% better than when she arrived & I can see her eyes soften & smile when she sees me. I've even gotten a few tiny butterfly kisses.
She does love to play with other dogs so I feel she'll do better if she is adopted into a home with another dog to help her feel safe.
