Adopt a Labrador Retriever / Hound

UPDATE FROM FOSTER: Chevy is a wonderful dog, listens very well and just wants to be a lap dog. She loved my daughter and just wanted to sleep with her and be by her side. The only problem we encountered was when we left the house to go somewhere she barked constantly and at times when we were home and she heard a noise she would bark for a few minutes till we got her to calm down. We believe she was only in a protect and alert mode and was trying to warn us. Other than that Chevy is a wonderful and smart dog and would make a great addition to any home. I wish I could keep her but I live in a town home and the barking bothered my neighbors.


Chevy was adopted from PRBJ last summer, as a puppy, right after she attended a camp for rescue dogs. Chevy is a large, and active girl, as is normal for her breed mix. Unfortunately she is a bit too large for her adopter's mother to handle and they have asked us to find a more suitable home for Chevy.

She would love a home with active people to can take her on all kinds of adventures.  She would love to be your walking or running buddy!

Chevy is a sweet and loveable dog. She is very motivated to learn. She loves to play with toys and run around and get lots of exercise!

     *** She is doing very well with commands sit, down, free, her name and eye contact. She is working on loose leash walking and being a little more gentle when she plays. She is good with kids and other dogs.
     *** She likes toys, playing with other dogs and running around.
     *** She does not like being groomed and being held for too long - she is a busy puppy.

Chevy is one lucky pup!  She is attending Camp Doglando. This is a fabulous camp where kids, train shelter dogs to get them ready for their new homes.

They will learn loose leash walking, sit, stay, down and many other things!  This the sixth year that dogs from PRBJ have gone to Camp Doglando and it is amazing how much they learn in a short period of time!
