Lazarus the Dog needs a home
Please welcome our new boy, Lazarus!!! Lazarus hails from South Carolina where he lived with 11 other dogs until his owner entered assisted living and surrendered him to the local shelter. As you probably noticed, Lazarus isn't a cocker spaniel! No, he is a black lab mix and quite a pretty boy. He is around 8-10 years old and weighs 56 pounds. Our vet says he needs to lose about 6 pounds.
Lazarus is a timid, low-energy boy, who is very sweet with everyone. He gets along well with the dogs and cats in his foster home. Lazarus eats up attention. So far, he hasn't showed any interest in toys. He is house-trained and uses the doggie door - he loves being outside. This cold weather doesn't bother him in the slightest. Lazarus is okay with stairs, but he prefers to stay on the first floor and sleep in a doggie bed at night. I’m sure he will happily transition to his new family’s room. He also does not get on furniture at this time.
Lazarus is heartworm positive and will require lifesaving treatment sponsored by OBG. For the next two months he'll spend a lot of time resting while he goes through the $1500 treatment. When he at the Vet he is a complete gentleman for his all his exams.
