Calico / Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat) Cat

Cecilia the Cat needs a home

Cecilia has been with us since May 2017...this darling senior lady has a story behind her stay here and we think it's important to share it. Cecilia spent 10 years locked in a basement with her brother Milo(adopted). Her first owner left her with this person for pet sitting and never came back for them. This is no way warrants the neglect she went through for the next decade at the hands of her caretaker. She never left that basement, never saw light, never breathed fresh air, and never felt a loving touch. Over time her nails grew so long they embedded themselves in her paw pads and became infected. This was never treated until she came to the shelter so her feet look a little strange. Cecilia used to be terrified of us here at the shelter, but over time she's come to look forward to us giving her pats. Here we love her, we know her life is worth saving. Cecilia needs a very quiet and patient home that is willing to give her the time she needs to adjust to being loved. She is so worth it, she deserves to live her golden years out as a spoiled member of the family! Please feel free to ask any questions about her you might have!
