Adopt a Mountain Cur / Mixed (short coat)
Copper the Dog needs a home
To be considered for adopting a dog from Canine Lifeline, you must have an approved application must be on file. Please visit http://www.caninelifeline.org/adoption-process/ for more information about our adoption process and to submit an online application.
Copper is a bright-eyed and alert 1 year-old Mountain Cur mix male with a fantastic disposition. He was surrendered to an overcrowded county dog shelter because he was too rambunctious for the toddlers in his home. From there, he made the trip to Canine Lifeline so he would be able to take his time finding the perfect new home. Copper gets along great with other dogs and loves to play chase and wrestle with them. He is curious but friendly around kitties so might be fine living with them. Copper is very playful, loves toys of all kinds, and enjoys playing a good game of fetch. He’s still puppyish so can be mouthy when he plays but that is less of an issue with people when he has another dog to play with. Copper knows some commands including sit and shake hands. We were told that he used to run 2-3 miles with his previous owner so would make a great running buddy for an active person or family. Copper has excellent crate manners and is likely to be housetrained quickly once he gets accustomed to the rules in his new home. He weighs about 36 pounds and his adoption fee is $250. He’s neutered, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea preventative, and microchipped. All Canine Lifeline adoptions come with a two-week adjustment period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email [email protected] if you’re interested in Copper. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. We have no foster homes with young children so aren’t comfortable placing any of them in a home with children less than 7 years of age. We try to respond to inquiries within 48 hours so if you haven’t heard from us within that time frame, please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.
