Adopt a Hound / Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (medium coat)
Ruthie the Dog needs a home
Ruthie is around 4 yrs old and has a really rough year so far. We believe she may have been hit by a car sometime in the spring and does still have a bit of a limp in her rear leg. When no one claimed her she ended up at the shelter, scared by all the noise and commotion, she was overlooked for months.
Ruthie is a really sweet girl who just wants to be loved and give love. Could you possibly be her person?
Ruthie is housebroken, however she does have an aversion to being crated (little Miss Houdini); while her foster family is away, she is confined to a bedroom and does well. Ruthie gets along well with other non-dominant dogs and did really well in the play groups while she was still at the shelter; lower energy dogs would be best, only because a dog jumping all over her or too much running could aggravate her bum leg. She would do best with older children (13+), only as she does not know her own size and strength. Cats are a bit too interesting for Miss Ruthie, so we do recommend a home without cats; small dogs may also be kind of iffy, however a meet and greet would be done to determine if it was a good match. Ruthie LOVES people and is a real cuddler, craving as much affection as she can get. She is also an expert kisser and bed hog ;)
Ruthie has a (human) best friend from her time at the shelter and he takes her on many great adventures regularly! She's visited many different parks, areas of the city, and even flea markets! She does really well in the car and is up for whatever adventure you have in mind!
Do you think Ruthie may be a good fit for you?
