Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat) Cat

Dolly the Cat needs a home

Please contact Kristi ([email protected]) for more information about this pet.

Dolly is a sweet and small young cat who was rescued from flooding in Louisiana. She’s only a little more than a year old and has had more than her share of trauma in her young life, but she’s full of life and love and energy, and is looking for her perfect forever home.

Dolly has Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis, which sometimes results in her sounding like she has the sniffles, so she takes a supplement called Lysine mixed into her food daily to keep her healthy.  Otherwise, she’s the picture of health. She can be with other cats, but they have to be vaccinated for FVRCP, which is a commonly recommended vaccine anyway.  (All BWAR cats receive this vaccine.)

Dolly would love to have an easy-going cat her own age to play with. She hasn’t quite made a  connection with the other cats here, who are older and not interested in play, but she watches them with respect and occasionally manages to engage them with her silly antics.  She started off cautious of my small dogs, but has made strides in remaining calm when they’re acting crazy and sometimes plays chase with the smallest one.

Dolly loves to watch TV, whether it’s a “cat video” featuring squirrels and birds, or even football and tennis!  She’s quite the cuddler and loves to be stroked and petted, rolling and flailing toward your hand to get the full petting experience.  Some of Dolly’s other favorite hobbies include sitting in an open window on a breezy day, napping in warm laundry, playing peek-a-boo behind the washing machine, climbing the cat tree to the very top, chasing toys, shimmying under furniture to retrieve toys she’s swatted under there, and zipping from chair to chair in a circle under the dining room table.  Dolly is completely litter box trained, and when she does something she shouldn’t, she’ll stop at a firm “no.” She’s a really well-behaved young cat who’s still got some kitten in her.

Dolly can sometimes get a bit over-stimulated and can react in fear if she’s grabbed without warning, so a home without small children is probably best for her.  Please contact me today for more information about this sweet girl!

All Brother Wolf animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations before adoption (if species appropriate).

Application and counseling is required prior to all adoptions.

Individuals interested in adopting a puppy are STRONGLY encouraged to download and read this FREE ebook. Even if you've raised puppies in the past, this is an invaluable resource to help make your new addition successful!

Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label.
