Cleopatra the Dog needs a home
Pet of the Day: Cleopatra!
Cleopatra was found in April 2012 nursing two puppies that at the time we questioned were even hers. She and the pups were in bad shape and were doing everything they could to survive. Once we took them in, Cleopatra nursed those puppies into good health as we nursed her back to good health. Even after those pups were too old to nurse we caught her still being a mom. One morning we came to the shelter to find that she had managed to get into the pen next to her, filled with a young litter, and was nursing them too! Once a mom, always a mom, I guess!
Cleopatra is a remarkably happy, sweet, and submissive pup. Even when she isnt smiling, she still has a very happy smirk on her face. She isn't very large, but is very strong (sounds like a few mothers I know!). Cleopatra has one of the softest coats of our dogs at the shelter and she loves to be touched and snuggled! She's good on a leash and loves to run and play in the yard- especially when the grass is long!
As many moms do, she has put the kids ahead of herself for too long! It's her turn now! We are happy to introduce to you..... CLEOPATRA! Please share her story so we can spotlight her and find her a home!
