Meet Cindy!  This sweet little girl is looking for her forever home - is it yours?  Cindy is coming to DC from Texas following the storm and would love to find a place to call her very own.  Cindy is pretty shy but she comes out of her shell!

Cindy would love to have some training to give her confidence.  She likes other dogs and MUST go to a home with another dog.  She LOVES to play in the backyard with her foster brother and sister and is even good with her feline foster sister too!  Cindy is a bit timid with kids and can get scared so she can not go to a home with kids under the age of 12.

At events, Cindy is really shy but once she's home, she gets brave and is a total cuddle bug.  She gets really nervous outside of the house and isn't quite ready to walk on a leash... even with her foster siblings.  So, she really needs backyard play!  She is great in her crate and goes in right away.

Like most shelter dogs, Cindy may need a refresher on housetraining. She is likely crate trained.

Cindy tested positive and has been treated for Heartworm disease. Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites.  Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative.

The adoption fee for this dog is $450, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment. If you are interested in adopting, please download our Adoption Questionnaire and email it to Liz J. at [email protected]
