Adopt a Retriever / Hound (short coat)
Zlata Russian Puppy the Dog needs a home
Zlata is our first Russian puppy! She was found as a puppy in a box by the gates of a shelter in Obinsk, Russia, arrived to NYC on December 18, 2017. She is 9m and 36lbs. She has great attitude, is friendly and gentle w/ children, other dogs and cats! Her foster mom says this about her: Pure happiness, love, and beauty in one puppy! The sweetest girl you will ever meet. We are looking for a home outside NYC with a private backyard as she is a bit afraid of big city crowds and street noises. And she speaks Russian, Dog, Cat and is learning English:)
The ideal home for Zlata: 1) House outside the city in a quiet setting with a fenced backyard
2) Dog savvy family prepared to take in a fearful dog and ready to give Zlata plenty of time to adjust to her new home
3) Home centered around quiet with few changes untill she settles down (could take some time)
4) Outdoorsy family who loves hiking is a huge plus

[email protected] Many of us (cats/dogs) will be on display on on Sundays and sometimes on Saturdays--please ask by writing us at
[email protected] and following us on FB. If you are seriously interested in adopting one of us in particular, please fill out an application by Friday so that we can be sure to be there. Otherwise we decide based on other variables. Usually we are in our foster homes so this is a bit more stressful and a slightly artificial environment but we do want to be seen and find our furever homes too.
Please consider providing a home for more than one dog, especially if you are considering adopting a puppy. Dogs are pack animals and very much enjoy as well as need other dog company to learn to play, socialize and be good companion animals to people. The upside to this is that you won't feel as guilty leaving them alone and you get twice the love. Please come! And if you can't adopt, maybe you can foster or volunteer, and you can always donate!
