Adopt a Doberman Pinscher (short coat)
Dino the Dog needs a home
Dino is a young (~10 month old) charming and active, small (50lb) Doberman pup. He’s a sweet, shy boy who tries really hard and learns quickly with his trusted people. Despite his breed, passive Dino is the opposite of a protection candidate, but is very alert and barks appropriately. Dino came from a sheltered and restricted background so he is just now learning about the world of leashes, cars, new people, and new dogs. He does form strong bonds with his humans and is very treat motivated so he should catch up quickly. He could potentially live with cats although he has not been tested, or a tolerant dog companion. We would not recommend him with small children or in a noisy, active household, even though he’s such a sweet baby. He really needs attention to be focused on him to help him become the amazing companion he’s meant to be. Dino is housebroken, neutered, and up to date on shots. His favorite gait is a gorgeous floating trot, so he (with some kind practice and confidence boosting) would make an excellent running companion.
Dino is currently enrolled at a training program through Unchained at San Jose Juvenile Hall. In this awesome program, he is learning basic obedience (sit, down, stay, come, loose leash walking, leave it) as well as fun tricks and other skills!
