Adopt a American Bulldog / Mixed (short coat)
JUMBO the Dog needs a home
Jumbo needs a foster home or a permanent home.
This handsome young man was originally found a few years ago as an abandoned puppy roaming the countryside when a nice family with children took a liking to him and took him in. They had to give him up because their new landlord would not allow dogs. Since then he has lived in a few foster homes always with other dogs and cats to keep him company. He is neutered, vaccinated, up to date on shots and microchipped. He is a deaf dog, so his new family should have an understanding about how to train, discipline and handle deaf dogs. He is estimated to be about 5 years old. He is a sweet dog that loves people. Jumbo gets along with children and the other dogs he has encountered in his country home and foster home. He lives with male and female dogs of all sizes in his foster home and likes them all. He is not aggressive with dogs though will defend himself if confronted by large dominant male dogs. It is preferred that he go to a home with another dog that that can hear because Jumbo will bond to that dog and learn to follow the lead of the hearing dog. We are not sure if he is a purebred or if he is mixed with other breeds. He may be American Bulldog and/or Labrador and/or Pitt Bull. He loves car rides and walks and spending time with people. Like almost all dogs, he needs regular exercise to keep him in shape and well behaved. He will be adopted to a family as a companion and house pet only and his new family must demonstrate an understanding of the needs and requirements of his breed.
All of our adoptable animal companions are in foster homes. Our adoption fee is negotiable and will not be more than any of the local adoption shelters in our area. If you would like to meet this pet please call Rassami at 559-779-3037. Before we arrange a personal meeting with one of our dogs we ask that you fill out an adoption application that we will send to you. We would like to determine that this pet will be a good fit for your family. Before you take home your new pet a home visit is also required. If you live out of town, we can still arrange a home visit. Our adoption/rehoming fee for each animal companion varies depending on a number of factors. HFHAF is run solely by volunteers so it may take us a few days to get back to you.
