Adopt a Tortoiseshell / Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat)
Heather the Cat needs a home
HEATHER IS UP FOR VIRTUAL ADOPTION! Heather is a pretty happy young girl, but she's too shy to be adopted. But you can help Heather live a happy life at Zoe Muffin House by donating $10 or more per month in our Virtual Adoption Program. Zoe Muffin House is our kitty halfway house.....halfway between rescue and adoption. We are a No Kill Rescue, meaning we only euthanize because of poor health when it is in the best interest of the pet. We never kill because we don't have enough space, or bad behavior, or if a kitty is too shy to be adopted. We get a lot of our kitties through our Trap/Neuter/Return efforts. We bring kittens into the rescue in hopes of socializing them and getting them adopted. Unfortunately, the kittens really need to be 3 months of age or younger if they are going to be social with people to the point of being picked up or adopted.
Heather was rescued from the local animal shelter when Pine Forest High School decided to kill all the cats. Pine Forest High School wouldn't give them to us or let us trap them. They were determined that the cats would be killed. Fortunately for Heather, and the other 10 cats trapped at PFHS, a teacher that worked there also volunteered with us. We worked out a plan with the animal shelter that we would take any cats trapped at PFHS. Heather was to old to socialize, but that's OK! We still love her and she has lots of kitty friends. She gets plenty of food and a safe place to sleep.
All of our cats and kittens are also available for virtual adoption for $10 or more per month. By sponsoring a kitty, you can help us help more animals. Click on the link to find out more about Virtual Adoption.
Adoption fee is $55.00 which includes up-to-date shots, FeLV test (negative) and spay surgery that is already done. Litterbox trained.
Prior to meeting or adopting any of our wonderful kitties, we ask that you please fill out our online Cat Adoption Application on our website AAFlorida.org. There is a link on the top of the home page. Click on "Fill in", you don't have to register. For more information about this kitty or any others, you can contact us at [email protected] or 850-377-2132. We are a foster organization and don't have set hours we are open - but we will gladly set up an appointment for you to meet any cat. Of course, you're under no obligation to adopt if you come to meet any of our fabulous felines.
