Demi the Dog needs a home
Demi came from a local shelter and was about to be put down because she was shy. We got her on her last day and what a save!!! She is a 2-3-year-old timid girl who is extremely affectionate once she gets to know you. She takes about ten minutes to warm up to both people and animals but as soon as she does she is attached. Having a dog companion really seems to help her personality shine. She was a little confused when meeting the cat but just ignores him now. Demi weighs about 40 pounds, which is on the big side of being a lap dog but she doesn’t let it stop her from crawling right up on top of you. She is calm overall and loves her kennel; as it is her safe place. She will need a quiet home with people who are willing to take their time with her. She didn’t seem to really know what any form of praise was when she came to us but is starting to know what “good girl” means and is really enjoying the constant belly rubs. When you are trying to talk to her, her first response is to roll onto her back and just lay there. Overall, Demi is a tremendously loving girl who just needs someone to snuggle with and show her what love really is.
She is playing great with other dogs. She does nees some time to warm up to them but after about 5 to 10 minutes she absolutely loves play time and initiates it on her own. She is also OK with cats.
