Adopt a Snowshoe / Siamese / Mixed (short coat)

Hi,

My name is Jada and I'm a shy little girl right now.  I came from Austin Animal Center and I am very scared.  My new foster family is working with me and they are making me feel better already.

I'm a Lilac Snowshoe and although my color may get darker foster Mom thinks I'll stay the lilac color.

I'm in desperate need of a forever home.  I'm spayed and microchipped already and I'm healthy and very clean.  Foster mom is watching for any signs of a cold that I may have gotten in the shelter and will treat it fast if it shows up.

Please consider coming to see me and making me your BFF!  

WOW!  Foster Mom finally got a couple of pictures of me.  I do have a little bit of a cold but I'm on meds and I'll be perfect soon.

UPDATE:  Jada is coming around a little bit.  She now comes out of the crate which is left open all the time.  She does use it as a safe place and loves to "hide" in her hammock.  She's playing with toys there in my bedroom at night when there are only two other cats present.  Little Bit and Ellie don't give her any trouble and Ellie cleans her face.  We can pick her up and give her some love and she purrs, but she's VERY jumpy and will act out violently (bite and scratch) if pushed too hard/too fast.  IF you're thinking of adopting Jada before we have her fully socialized you will need to have experience with cats and be willing to take the time it takes to let her get comfortable and confident in HER own time.  If you want an immediate lap cat Jada is not the cat for you.

UPDATE MArch 2017: Sometimes we take in kitties that have been psychologically so traumatized that they never accept humans and do not allow physical contact with them. After the progress that I described in the last update that was made over a year ago Jada seemed to regress until she would not allow us to touch her. After trying to crate her and start working with her all over again I realized it just wasn't going to happen so we let her out in the house where she bonded with Ellie and Lucas. She is a beautiful kitty and just fine with home life as long as you don't try to touch her. We can get in an occasional tense stroke or ear scratch with one finger but not often. She runs from us if she thinks she's in danger of being touched but never very far. She has been with us for over two years. She MIGHT make a good "barn cat" but it would need to be a very secure one where she was provided for and watched over. All-in-all Jada a is a beautiful "ornament". If you would be willing to adopt one who otherwise would not get a home of her own then please offer this pretty girl a forever home. She is great with the other kitties in our home but if you're looking for a lap cat Jada is probably not the cat for you. She has no health issues and is up to date on vaccinations, is spayed and microchipped. I am willing to foster Jada for the rest of her life, however it would be greatly beneficial to Jada if she had her own home and more individual attention so she could blossom into the companion I know she can become.
