Description:

A5138979 Kona is a loving 12-year-old caramel-with-white female Labrador Retriever mix whose owners surrendered her to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center on Christmas for no known reason. Weighing 61 lbs, Kona is a heartbreaker. Her handler fell in love with her as soon as she was out of her kennel, as did everyone that saw her. Kona is super-friendly and ca
n sit and shake on command. She is interested in other dogs and gets chatty when she sees them -- she wants to meet them! When she was left at the shelter she had an open wound and is now recovering from surgery. She will need a vet check once she is adopted as a follow-up and possibly a second set of vaccinations (see shelter staff/vet). Kona has a medium level of energy and certainly doesn’t act her age! Spunky and curious and constantly smiling, this girl is the best. She loves, loves, loves being scratched and is a happy camper if you let her wiggle up into your lap and give you her belly to scratch. Kona is one of those dogs that likes to be near you and lean up against you if you’re standing nearby or holding her leash. This girl is the quintessential family dog — she deserves to live the rest of her years hanging out and getting belly rubs as an indoor dog with a family or individual that will enjoy her loyalty and love her right back.
