Adopt a Tortoiseshell (short coat)
Amber the Cat needs a home
This petite and stunning Tortie girl is Amber. She was found as a stray earlier this summer and taken to a local animal control facility. Sadly, they were already inundated with cats and kittens so her chances of being adopted out were slim to none. We happily stepped in to rescue this beauty because we knew that she had a home at one point considering how sweet and docile she is. Amber has beautiful coloring/markings and big golden-green eyes that will capture your heart. She is shy and timid by nature and takes a bit of time to warm up to new surroundings, but she is totally worth the wait. She melts and purrs as soon as you pet her and will even make biscuits with her paws to show you just how happy she is. We aren't sure what she experienced during her time as a stray, but even owned cats will often act cautious and skittish as a means to protect themselves from the dangers outside. Please don't let her shy temperament dissuade you from giving her a chance; she is a very sweet and affectionate kitty with lots of love to give to a family who will accept her for who she is. Amber does great with other cats and finds comfort in their companionship. She may do okay with a cat-friendly dog with a proper introduction but older kids are preferred due to her timid nature. She is spayed, microchipped, negative for FeLV/FIV and current on vaccinations - DOB 5/15/15 (tag # 10230).
