A Little Bit About Me
Sweet, cuddly Sophie is looking for a calm, cat and dog-free home with folks who appreciate the joys of an older cat: one who is too old to climb the curtains, but young enough to climb into your lap for some serious snuggle time.
In her previous home, Sophie lived with two children (now teenagers) as well as other cats and dogs. Her guardian reports that she is frightened of dogs and, at her age, we feel she doesn't need the added stress of canine housemates. She will enjoy the attention of calm polite older who can understand the need to approach her slowly and quietly and offer gentle petting. She loves to be brushed and combed - a great way for her to get to know you as she settles in and gets comfortable in her new home.
Giving Sophie a small space to call her own for awhile will help her adjust to her new life with you. Equip this room with all her essentials and be sure to include a cozy bed or basket for naps. It may take a little time for her to adapt to her surroundings, but frequent visits, soft talk and gentle grooming will be the best way for Sophie to overcome her initial reserve, start purring and become a cherished member of your family for years to come.
