Aria is a beautiful husky mix who loves other dogs and people.  She has a very sweet nature with a tad bit of shyness.   If you give her a chance she will warm up to you and then she is a playful, silly and goofy dog.  Aria gets along great with both male and female dogs here at the rescue.   She stays very alert and watchful and will bark like a shepherd.  She is a perfect combination of beauty, brains and will also watch over you!  She would be a great running or hiking partner as she is young and active. 

NORTHERN BREEDS: All of the Husky/Northern breeds, at our rescue, require a home visit for us to check for appropriate fencing and, if needed, to offer tips on containment. You can quicken your adoption process by sending us some yard pics, focusing on the fence lines, when you submit your application.

Please keep in mind if you want to own a husky or malamute you will need to be open to the fact that containing this dog may require you to install a hot wire system (cost is approx. $100).  This type of fencing is quite often needed to prevent digging, climbing or chewing through fences. A hot wire is typically the best route to start with for proper containment and peace of mind. Some of our dogs will require this fencing method, prior to adoption, due to a history of escaping with your current type of fencing.  For most yards installation of a hot wire is simple and can be done in under 2 hours.

Northern breeds are beautiful dogs but can have challenging personalities.  They can be demanding and very destructive by chewing or digging.  Since they are eager to explore, some are difficult to contain especially if not exercised or if their needs are not met.
