Enzo Ferrari the Cat needs a home
DOB: 4/6/17
Enzo Ferrari is a precocious, playful, sweet, affectionate little sweetheart who loves to be petted and held. A bottle baby from our nursery, Enzo has always been around humans and is consequently very affectionate with them. He loves other cats and kittens and wants to be friends with everyone – he gets very lonely if he doesn’t have some buddies to play with. He loves to pounce and play and wrestle with his foster mates. Enzo was born with hydrocephalus – a neurological condition where spinal fluid accumulates on the brain. His condition is currently controlled by two medications which he takes daily and his neurologist says his prognosis is great - there is no reason he cannot live a high quality normal length life. Due to his condition, Enzo is completely blind and has some “interesting” habits, like walking in circles and attacking the air. His MRI shows that one side of his brain is fine while the other has some abnormalities in the areas that control motor function and learning, which explains some of his odd habits and the fact that it takes little Enzo a wee bit longer than it might take a "normal" cat to figure some things out. Enzo uses the litter pan, but must be given a little time to learn in a new environment. For instance, when coming to foster, we started him in a small bathroom where he would go on the floor on wee wee pads NEXT to the litter pan at first and then within a few days was using the pan. The same applied when we opened his space up - he found the wee pads next to the litter pan in the big room first and then figured out to do his business IN the pan. Since then, he has been completely consistent. He just needs a little time and patience :). He can be startled by loud and unfamiliar noises, so a relatively quiet home without small children and without noisy energetic dogs is best. He’s perfectly fine with crazy energetic kittens and cats, though.
