Adopt a Setter / Mixed (medium coat)
Edward - ADOPTION PENDING!! the Dog needs a home
NO LONGER ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS!!
Meet Edward, This gorgeous guy was surrendered to a high intake shelter in rural SC. Edward's owner surrendered him in the hopes that he'd be able to find a better home than he could provide to him. His owner used to breed hunting dogs and decided that as he had gotten older, it makes sense to discontinue the practice. Edward has been raised around other dogs and cats. He's interacted with children in the family that he came from. Edward has never lived indoors, as is the case with many hunting dogs. It's been reported by the shelter that he's a friendly gent.
As Edward was bred to be a working dog, he will thrive in a home who will be sure to exercise both his mind and body. If you are interested in adopting Edward, please do apply today.
UPDATE - 1/22/18
Edward arrived on 1/20 and is quickly adapting to home life and doing well. He does well in the crate, but really prefers sleeping on a comfy couch or dog bed. He's a very social boy, both with people and other dogs. He's a hit at the dog park, and plays as well with small dogs, as he does with large dogs. He knows how to adjust his play style, and is very respectful of other dogs. He's still a little hesitant of loud and new noises, but this life is all new to him, and on day 2 he's already doing well.
More to come as we get to know Edward aka Patches to his foster mom.
