Chip the Dog needs a home
Cupcake is the mother of Chip, her cute dapple puppy. Both Cupcake and Chip are very closely bonded. Cupcake sees well and is a sweet little lady but she can't hear. She watches Chip closely for visual cues of noise, because he is very alert and hears well. Chip, on the other hand, watches and almost mirrors his mom. Because she's calm, he tends to stay that way.
Basically it's a great relationship for both of them because it brings out their best behavior. The two play well, like to cuddle with people, and are learning house training very rapidly. Both are young and incredibly small, so a safe and secure environment is a must- they'd slip through very small spaces and she can't hear you call. Also, while Chip is okay with leash walking, Cupcake isn't in love with it, so a home with a secure yard for off-leash, supervised restroom breaks would be a big help.
The pair is easier to care for than many single dogs we've worked with, and they are so small that there's not a lot of space required. They are each as beautiful as a pair of little ones could be, and they are so soft to cuddle with!!! Because the pair is so young and small we will only place in a home where someone is there most of the time, and with no young or less-than-gentle children. Experience with Dachshunds is a plus,.
