Meet this doofy pup Allistar he is a neutered male Great Dane mix who is approximate a year old and mostly grown weighing around 90#. His expected adult weight should be between 90-100#. He was picked up wandering down a country road and ended up at the county animal control. He LIVES to play, and can often be found playing and wrestling with the other Danes in his foster group. Alilistar gets along well with everyone he meets, though because of his young ness and playful nature we think no teeny dogs would be best. Since entering care he has learned how to walk on leash, use the doggie door and is kennel trained. 


 He is current on all vaccinations, neutered and heartworm negative!  Allistar’s adoption fee is $250 and an online application can be completed at www.texasgreatdane.org.

SASPCA Homeward Bound Dog Rescue and San Antonio Great Dane Rescue are 501(c)(3) foster-based rescue groups based in San Antonio, Texas. 

 

Our group focuses on assisting open admission shelters in South Texas where over 32,000 dogs and cats are euthanized each year.

 


Our puppies and dogs are completely vetted and live in foster homes. They are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and tested for heartworm disease.

All adoptions include one month of flea and heartworm preventative, leash and collar, and a 30-day trial of 24PetWatch Pet Insurance. 

Adopters will also receive a Petco Pet Parent Savings Books that contain:

• $100s in savings plus a coupon for a free 6 lb. bag of WholeHearted dog food.

• Thoughtful care tips.

• Online resources and support.

 


 

Our adoption events are held each Saturday at Petco located in the Northwoods Shopping Center at 18138 San Pedro Ave, San Antonio, TX 78232.  Event hours are typically 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

If your adoption application is approved and you are traveling from out-of-town, we hold your chosen pet for one hour past the event start time to allow for travel time.

 

We do try to schedule bi-monthly meet-and-greets in Austin as interested is generated.

 


 

We are an all-volunteer organization and do not currently have the resources to process out-of-state adoptions.

 


 

Our puppies, purebred dogs, and small breed dogs do get adopted quickly so we encourage interested parties to apply online.
