Molly the Dog needs a home
Update from Trainer: Molly loves to be challenged both physically and mentally. She thrives under lots of structure, she's very polite, at times stubborn but loves to comply. She loves going on structured walks (She walks beautifully on a heel, loose leash, no pulling), she loves structure migrating walks with other dogs, she loves working for her food using obedience. She loves the outdoors, hikes, jogging, walking. She thinks she is a lap dog during lounging time on the couch. She loves to be challenged with agility, she loves to play tug. Molly loves going on car rides and going places. She is full of love towards people and calm dogs. Molly is a wonderful companion. Molly's social skills are excellent with other dogs she knows and as long as there is supervision of socialization in a safe environment.
Foster Update: Molly is a true companion dog. She loves to lie at my feet while I cook dinner, cuddle up as close as she can get to me on the couch with her her bigger-than-lap-dog sized body, and has formed a strong bond with me in a very short time. Molly is fully housebroken (although she is partial to going to the bathroom off leash, in grass, and not on the hard NY cement sidewalks - who can blame her?), and is an angel in the crate. I haven't heard a peep out of her, and she will happily eat her dinner in her crate as well. On the proper setup on leash, she walks very well, checking in with me regularly (something she has been working on) and not really minding much of anything about her environment.
Molly loooooves to give kisses, and would happily cover a stranger with kisses if they would allow her to. She's a very chill dog who would also be happy to go on a long walk or hike. Molly has started to play with toys, and it's adorable - she tosses the toy for herself and leaps around the yard on her own with little to no encouragement. Molly does tend to take treats very excitedly and for this reason we recommend she go to a home without young children, but she is also working on the "gentle" command and making progress.
Molly is a Boxer mix from Texas and is 2 year old. She currently weighs 62 lbs as an adult.
