Adopt a Beagle / Cattle Dog / Mixed (short coat)

FEB 12, 2018:

Sweet little STELLA, 3 years old and 21.6 pounds, just arrived!  She is a PERFECT AGE and SIZE!  Recently spayed, she tested NEGATIVE for Heartworm, Lyme Disease, Ehrlichia, and Anaplasmosis—she is a healthy and happy little girl.  (She was an only pup to her parents, Bonnie (Lemon Beagle) and Clyde (Tri-color Beagle).  See photos. Their family gave them up because of complications from a house fire.  Bonnie and Clyde were recently adopted together.) 

Stella has very large, brown eyes that will melt your heart, her coat is very soft, and her teeth are pearly white.  She has SO MANY GREAT traits; she doesn’t seem to have any emotional baggage at all!  She spent the weekend in a wonderful, middle aged couple’s home and they confirmed much of what we already know about her.  (They would have kept her but the man is allergic to dogs.) Stella: 

- loves to ride in cars and trucks and she has excellent house manners too.

- was not destructive with anything in their home.

- loves being with people and included in whatever they are doing.

- is clean in her room at the shelter and was clean (housetrained) in previous home. (House training is situational and all dogs need refresher courses in their new homes; they need to know their new family will get them outside often enough to be house trained there.)

- happily slept through the night in her crate (covered by a blanket).

- loves being with kids and seeks them out.

- loves being outside and walking with and playing with other dogs.

- is EXCELLENT on leash and is a polite little dog in every way.

- enjoyed going to a PetSmart class this weekend where she learned to SIT in one hour. 

Stella is a very affectionate little dog more than ready for her forever home.  Whoever is lucky enough to qualify to adopt her is going to LOVE everything about her.  She is very well behaved!
