Scruffles, aka Scruffy, is aptly named! He is, indeed, a scruffy little old man! He is super cute with his long black/gray wiry hair, cock-eyed little ears and happy smiling face. Scruffy will come to you with tail wagging and a happy trust in people. Scruffy is, all-in-all, a sweet, sweet guy who will be easy to keep happy as he lives out his years in the warm, loving embrace of a family.
Scruffles has moderate heart disease, but it doesn't slow him down. He still loves to play with toys and take walks. He is on an inexpensive medication called Vetmedin and should remain on it for life. Ideally, he will also have follow up echocardiogram and x-rays every six months to catch any advancement of his heart disease.
Scruffles came to POMDR because his senior guardian was in failing health and going blind, so could no longer care for him. Scruffles had been with this guardian his whole life and was very loved. The decision was not easy, but his guardian knew this was the best option for Scruffles.
