If you are ready for a fabulous day then meet your new loyal buddy, Gisele! Gisele is equal parts active and loving. She would love to spend all day outside on a walk, followed by tug of war and fetch. She likes playing with plush toys and enjoys relaxing by snuggling up next to you so you can shower her with lots of attention and peting. She will settle down in her own space, but prefers being near you. Gisele is an enthusiastic member of the family. She is smart, wants to please and has endless amount of energy and love to share. Gisele is quick to recognize/respect routines. She is excellent with her crate and goes in easily with a small treat prompt. Gisele also enjoys learning new things and is in the Total Obedience Program. The Total Obedience Program (TOP) is modeled after the AKC's Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test. As a TOP dog, Gisele has a personalized training plan and works with a volunteer trainer several times a week to help her learn the skills to become the best dog she can be! She is learning skills like sit and down, walking nicely on leash, sitting calmly when approached by strangers or other dogs, staying in a sit or down until told "free," and coming when called. Once Gisele successfully completes all the skills on her training plan she will be considered TOP Dog Ready! Gisele is working hard to become a wonderful pet and as a part of APA's Total Obedience Program you can work with APA staff to continue to build a training relationship with Gisele after adoption and master all the TOP dog skills together.
