Adopt a Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / Shepherd / Mixed

A VERY ACTIVE GUY:  3 years old / 39 lbs.  Mostly Mutts adoption facility is open Mon-Sat. 11-4pm.  Some of us are in foster homes so please call 770-272-6888 1st to find out if I’m available to meet during the week.  I’m a handsome and active guy looking for a dog-savvy family with a strong leader who will be very active with me! I love the great outdoors with my people and can see myself going for lots of walks, maybe some runs, and I think I’d like hikes too! Hopefully you will have time for a walk of an hour or more is what I need to get my energy out.  I love exploring and sniffing around outside, so we can have lots of fun together.  I’m working on my inside manners now and I do need a family who will commit to my continued training. I’m working on not jumping up on you, and over the gate to my room, as well as not mouthing/nipping at arms as if they are play things.  Sorry about that, I’ll learn!   Since I need training and have a lot of pup left in me, a home with no kids is best for me. I do have to spend a good bit of time in my crate or little room, so I don’t like going into them.  I’ve shown some frustration with my teeth, but I am in training for this and doing better.  I’ve learned “leave it” when I get too mouthy and would be happy if you follow that up with a treat/kibble to reinforce my good behavior.  I’m also working on my potty manners and it’s coming along, just be consistent with me, so I’ll finish learning.  After being observed by a trainer several times, it seems that female dogs are the best match for me.  I do play hard, so we’ll have to meet first to see if we can be friends and I can be mouthy with my person when it’s time to stop playing.  Please talk to my trainer or Tammy T. for some insights on my dog friendships.   I may also be able to live with a kitty, it will just depend on the kitty, you can talk to my trainer or Tammy T about this too.  I really am a sweet boy who cuddles and will melt into you. I can’t wait to find my forever home where I’ll get lots of consistent exercise, love and training so I can be my very best! Energy level: 7-9.  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped, neutered and my adoption fee is $275.00.
