Adopt a Saluki / Pharaoh Hound / Mixed (medium coat)
Vanilla and Kendall Salukix CA the Dog needs a home
Who wants a perfectly trained pair of Sight Hounds?
Vanilla was a stray on a construction site and was regularly fed by my friend in Bahrain. After she gave birth to 11 puppies, the guard at the construction site collected all of them and hid them hoping to sell them to dog fighters. A friend got the police involved and got every single one back and they went to a kennel where they ended up getting sick and all but the mom and one puppy, Kendall lived to tell this story! They went to a clinic for 2mos where they tried to separate them as Kendall was getting too big to share a cage and Vanilla broke through two cages to get to her baby.
We tried adopting them both out while in Bahrain and they were both returned because they wouldn’t eat and cried every night for 5 nights straight. They truly love each other and are never far from one another in the house. They are so low key and are such live bugs! Foster mom flew them in cabin with me from Chicago to Palm Springs CA where they stayed at the Ritz Carlton over Christmas and even went to lunch in Palm Springs! They are very well behaved and always get compliments.
Vanilla, mom, is about 2y, 35lbs, adores her baby Kendall who is about 9mos now. They love each other so much there is really no room for another dog in their lives and definitely no cats! Good in the car, on plane, outdoor dining...and no small children as they can be scary.
These pups are in California and while we would love to see them rehomed in CA, we are willing to fly them to their perfect furever home!

Many of us (cats/dogs) will be on display on on Sundays and sometimes on Saturdays--please ask by writing us at [email protected] and following us on FB. If you are seriously interested in adopting one of us in particular, please fill out an application by Friday so that we can be sure to be there. Otherwise we decide based on other variables. Usually we are in our foster homes so this is a bit more stressful and a slightly artificial environment but we do want to be seen and find our furever homes too.
