Adopt a Treeing Walker Coonhound / Mixed (short coat)
Lola the Dog needs a home
Lola was found on the side of the road in Georgia, horribly injured and with milk. Animal Control immediately transferred her to the emergency hospital and reached out to rescue for help! They searched for her babies for several days, and could not locate them sadly. Lola is 2 years old and about 45 pounds. She has a long road to recovery ahead of her, and probably multiple surgeries. She sustained a skull fracture, front leg fracture, pelvic fracture, and the tendon to her patella in her rear leg was completely severed. In addition, she had deep wounds with necrotic tissue that also needed surgery to repair. She is making great progress with our vet partner and has a wonderful foster who has been taking her to Physical Therapy sessions to continue to help her heal. She goes on walks daily and is able to navigate steps unassisted. Lola is such a sweet and friendly girl and her therapists and foster mom just love her! She is great with people and loves human affection and snuggles. She is amazing with dogs of all sizes and would do great in a home with another pet...she even likes cats! She is house trained and knows some basic commands. Lola will be up to date on shots and spayed prior to placement in a forever home.
