DOG'S DESCRIPTION

This cutie was LEFT BEHIND when his family moved.  They left him and his brothers in the vacant home and the neighbors were feeding them.  The landlord said they had to go so off to the shelter they went... well, now Harley is in our care and looking for a new furever home.  A family that will never leave him behind again...a family that will love him furever. Harley is sweet, friendly, energetic, and ready for a wonderful loving home. He's great with humans of any age. He's good with most dogs. Not sure how he'll do with cats.  He gets so excited to see you his whole body wiggles. He loves to sleep under the covers, and while he's not fully housetrained he is well crate trained. He loves a big fluffy comforter in his crate he can snuggle up in. This guy is a great dog if just given the chance. The stress of the chaotic adoption events stress him out and we request that you meet him in Columbia MD outside of an adoption event.

Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.

Adoption fees cover basic vetting, spay/neuter surgery (for dogs over 6 months old), rabies, distemper/parvo vaccinations, treatment for worms, heartworm testing, monthly heartworm prevention and monthly flea/tick prevention (while the animal is in our care), and transport costs from high-kill shelter. Please note that on average, K-9 Lifesavers spend significantly more on each dog than their adoption fee. Adoption fee for HW positive dog also covers heartworm treatment at our partner vets.

Foster Program:  Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/ or email our Foster Coordinator at [email protected]
