DOG'S DESCRIPTION

I am crate trained and house trained.  I very calm in the house.  I usually like to sleep.  I especially like to rest by my mom and dad when they are working from home. I am a great jogging partner.  I like to ride in the car and love to play in water.

After my alpha sister passed away I developed some dominant behaviors. I went to a trainer for 8 weeks and did a nice job following all of the rules. If my owners keep up with a consistent structured environment I am a pretty easy guy.  However right now my family is having a hard time keeping up with my training.  I do well with my rules but I do need to be reminded of them often.  If I encounter another dominant dog on leash I can become reactive, but have had a lot of training and can usually be queued to ignore other dogs.  I like to take walks with my dog friends, but am not a candidate for dog parks.

I would do best with a couple or individual who has had a dog before and is comfortable being my pack leader. I am very eager to follow. I like to be active, but am a mellow guy so I can adapt to what every life style you have.

We are being cautious with Jasper and feel he'll do better in a home without younger children, older very dog savvy children will be considered on a case by case basis.

Adoption fees cover basic vetting, age appropriate distemper/parvo vaccinations, treatment for most common intestinal worms, heartworm testing if the puppy is older than 5 months of age, monthly heartworm prevention starting at 5 months of age, monthly flea/tick prevention starting at 12 weeks of age, and transport costs from the original shelter to a foster home. K-9 Lifesavers will provide this medical care to this adorable puppy until he or she is adopted. Once this pup is adopted, their forever family will assume all medical and financial responsibility for him or her.  As part of the adoption agreement, adopters agree to get the pup spayed/neutered. K-9 Lifesavers does not cover the cost of spay/neuter.
