Adopt a Shih Tzu (long coat)
Winston the Dog needs a home
Winston's adoption donation $300 and he is being fostered in Central Ohio. He has been neutered, microchipped, received his rabies vaccine, distemper/parvo, bordetella, heartworm tested negative and started on prevention, as well as flea prevention. Winston has also had a dental cleaning.
Winston originally came into rescue several years ago after being rescued by a Good Samaritan on an abandoned property, in the garage. He was starving, dirty and matted. This kind person contacted our rescue, and a volunteer brought him from a Southern state into the comfort and safety of rescue. Shadow was a very good boy on the 10 hour car ride, and well behaved for a young dog. Winston was adopted out and recently came back into rescue. He is currently on a prescription food to help maintain the proper pH balance in his urine
so he will require a home with a strong veterinary history
. He is working on his potty training and has made a lot of progress while in rescue. He does do some resource guarding of toys and food, so we just feed him separately or re-direct him and he does well. He would be great as an only dog but does do well with other dogs. He prefers to play with toys versus other dogs. Due to his rough play with toys, no children under the age of 12.
