Adopt a Chihuahua (medium coat)
LACEY the Dog needs a home
The appearance of the coat could be due to:
- Follicular Dysplasia that is often seen in this breed and in dogs with the `blue` coat color
This is a non-treatable condition causing hairloss and the dog''s coat will appear this way for life.
- A fungal infection. This is less likely as there is no inflammation, and no redness.
DVM noted that this does NOT look like ringworm, but cannot rule out other fungal infections
without testing.
- A Thyroid condition. Further diagnosis of a thyroid condition would require a blood sample
and a thyroid panel.
- Cushing''s Disease. Further diagnosis of Cushing''s Disease would require blood testing (hyperdradenocorticism)
DVM noted that this condition does NOT appear to be contagious.
