Adopt a American Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat)
Elsie the Dog needs a home
DOB: 12/10. WEIGHT: ~50 lbs
Elsie is an older gal who looks to have been bred many times. She has been tested positive for thyroid. She will need medication for the remainder of her life. She is a real love bug and just wants to please. We are on a mission to help this poor girl find the loving, healthy, happy home she deserves. We need to get a picture of her with her big, pink teddy bear. She loves to carry it around with her and it's adorable. It may be the first real thing she's had to call her own! Does fine around young children.
Update March 4, 2014 - This is what her foster mom has to say about her:
Elsie is house trained, will bust out or destroy any kennel you put her in but luckily she is pretty well behaved in the house as long as there are no drawers or cabinet doors she can get into. Also will clear a kitchen counter really quick. Loves to chew up collars and leashes and an occasional coffee table book. She does better if she has plenty of tennis balls to tear up during the day. She is very pushy and bossy with other dogs. If someone is in the spot she wants, she will sit on them till they move. Likes to hide all the toys under the cushion of the couch so she can come back and get them later. She does not start fights, just likes things her way. No cats or small critters of any kind. Gets along with other dogs. It's amazing they tolerate her behavior." Well, that's pretty clear!
Our adoption fee is $130.00 and it helps to cover a portion of the dog's vetting costs. The adoption process includes the completion of an application followed by an interview.
